I’m just going to say it… don’t buy anything else online until you try this. Because this has quickly become one of my favorite little AI tricks, and it’s one of those things that once you start doing it, you’re not going back.
You already know this about me, but I am someone who loves to save money. I love a good thrift find. I love a yard sale. If I can say I got something for next to nothing, it makes my whole day. So naturally, when I’m shopping online, I’m not just clicking “buy now” without at least wondering… is there a better deal here?
And that’s where this has changed things for me. Now, anytime I’m about to check out on a website, I pause. You know that little coupon code box they always have? Instead of guessing or searching Google for five minutes and hoping for the best, I go straight to ChatGPT.
I give it a simple prompt and ask it to search for any current coupon codes, discount links, or affiliate codes for that specific store. And y’all… it actually works. It will pull up multiple options, and then I just go through and test them one by one. Most of the time, they’re valid. It’s just a matter of figuring out which one gives you the best discount.
I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve been saving anywhere from 20 to 40 percent on things I was already planning to buy. And every once in a while, sure, you’ll hit one that doesn’t apply. But most of the time, it does.
This is one of those simple ways I use AI as an assistant. Not to replace anything I’m doing, not to think for me, but to handle a task that would normally take extra time and mental energy. It’s just doing the digging for me.
And that’s really the goal. Not more noise. Not more tabs open. Not more overwhelm. Just a little bit of support in the places that add up over time.
So if you haven’t tried this yet, do it on your next purchase. It’s quick, it’s simple, and it genuinely makes a difference. And if you’re here for more little things like this, I’ll keep sharing them as I find them.
